Welcome to The Hosta Hideaway Nursery and Gardens of York Springs, Pennsylvania where our goal is to offer a large selection of quality Hostas at reasonable prices. We currently have approximately 400 varieties of hosta for sale and we also offer an expanded grouping of complimentary shade plants. Additionally, we have statuary and other decorative items to add interest to your gardens. Coming to the Hosta Hideaway is a unique experience where our customers can view garden displays of mature hostas to assist in visualizing hostas in their own garden spaces. We offer knowledgeable specialized service to assist in helping our customers choose what hostas would be best for their gardens. Hostas have beautiful foliage and are easy to grow part shade perennials plants. Sizes vary from miniature to giant (miniatures stay six inches or less in height and giant hostas can grow to over four feet tall) and colors can be any combination of greens, blues, yellows and white. Each year we strive to add new varieties of hostas to our nursery, expand our selection of statuary and art, and expand our gardens to provide our customers with the best opportunity to choose from a large quantity of quality perennials. When we moved to York Springs, Pennsylvania, we quickly realized that the location was perfect for growing hostas. Then in 2007 the concept for a hosta nursery and gardens was developed, and in May 2008 The Hosta Hideaway Nursery and Gardens of York Springs, Pennsylvania officially opened. We started with approximately 50 varieties of hostas for sale and two display gardens. Our business quickly grew and in 2009 we were able to double the variety of hostas offered and to significantly increase the number of display gardens. As we grew, we expanded our selling areas to include over 400 varieties of hostas and a large selection of statuary and other complementary garden items. At the Hosta Hideaway we endeavor to be more than a business which can be seen in our mission and goals. We strive to demonstrate good stewardship of God’s creation through our business, gardens, products, the relationships we develop, and our interactions within the community. To help fulfill the goal of demonstrating good stewardship within the community, The Hosta Hideaway donates a portion of gross sales each season to local, regional and international human service organizations. We work hard to develop strong relationships with our customers and have found that the relationships we develop have enriched our lives.
